Tea Ceremony Experience

Would you like to experience a Japanese Tea Ceremony?

 

Are you interested in Japanese culture?
We hold events so that you can experience a Japanese tea ceremony and learn traditional culture easily.
This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to learn the traditional world of the “Chado“(The Way of Tea)?

“Chado” is one of the greatest traditions in Japanese culture.
The Japanese tea ceremony is an event in Chado. It is not only to drink Matcha (powdered fine green tea), but also to learn and connect with Japanese culture.

In this experience, you can learn manners of the tea ceremony, and how to make Matcha. Of course, you can also have Matcha tea and Japanese sweets that represent the seasons throughout the tea ceremony. 
It takes about 90 minutes.

 


This experience includes the following 3 lessons:

1. What is “Chado”?

– Learn about “Chado”
– Conduct and manner on the Tatami mat
(how to bow, how to sit on the Tatami mat, how to walk on the Tatami mat and so on.)
– How to have a cup of Matcha and sweets

2. Let’s join the tea ceremony!

– Meditation
– Demonstration of the procedure for making Matcha
– Tasting Matcha and sweets

3. Let’s try to make Matcha!

– Learn about tea utensils
– How to make Matcha
– Making Matcha by yourselves

Don’t worry if you can’t sit on a Tatami mat, we have chairs if you need them.

Lessons are taught in English or Chinese. Please let us know which language is better for you when you make reservations.
